Freedom of Religion article
In the article, "N.C teens: Nose ring more than fashion, its faith" a 14 year old teen in being suspended from her school due to the fact that she has a nose piercing. Ariana Iacono is attending Clayton High School and has been suspended because her nose ring violates the Johnston county school system's dressing code. Ariana and her mother, Nikki, belong to the Church of Body Modification. They argue that the school is taking away her freedom to express her religion. Ariana continues to be suspended and if she returns to school wearing her nose ring again she'll face more time in suspension or sent to alternative schooling. The school is not respecting their religion, it is unfair for her to have to be suspended over her religious beliefs. Everyone is in title to their own beliefs and have the freedom to express themselves as they wish.

very good. This probably happen to her because of the religion she is and not a Hindu or Muslim religion.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because everyone has different beliefs, and just because she has a different one, she shouldn't be suspended from school.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you but Ariana should also respect the school dress code. I read that her religious beliefs did not require her to always wear her jewelry. She could just not wear her jewelry at the school campus.
